loves this take-off on Grant Wood's American Gothic, with
Roger's trumpet replacing the pitchfork, and the couple's new home
in Little Canada replacing the barn. Tina's high-collared sternness
perfectly captures the look of the farmer's niece in the original.
Drum corps friend Ron Haselius took this
photo. He shot a whole roll of film to get the expressions and composition
just right. We had a magazine photo of the painting as a guide. |
